Bridging the Gap between Life Science and Software
Life Sci Hack was developed as a pilot project by Experimental Civics, BioAustin, and CapChem in an effort to produce an actionable event which could provide solutions to 4 core pain-points felt by those in the life science community.
Tracking of information between software.
Dealing with large scientific data data for implementation and analysis.
Software package tools for the life science community.
More robust educational tools for the life science community.

Bridging the Gap between Life Science and Software
We are now at the pinnacle of creativity with new emerging technologies and innovative practices like design thinking and hacking. Join others to build your idea and knowledge.
We are the first event of this kind in Austin. With our company, academic, and technology invite list, you’ll be sure to meet some amazing people (and possible new friends.)
Can’t seem to find an employer or employee? Our invite list includes recruiters to help you all find who you are looking for and great fits based on the results of our hackathon.
There will be fresh food, cash and SXSW badge prizes up for grabs, stickers and much more.
Our event is the start of something much larger and we can’t wait to showcase our hackers and projects in front of a global audience. You never know who might be listening or watching!
Regardless of your experience, who is in your current network or what your skills might be, there is always an opportunity to learn at an event like this. Time to level up in the new year!
Bridging the Gap between Life Science and Software
Pre-liminary to the event we will have a meetup for future hackers to showcase or talk more about their ideas and spur innovation. You are allowed to bring existing code to work on before the event begins so long as the project is not at it's near completion. Feel free to also use any recycled projects!
