Charlotte Capitanchik

Charlotte is a computational biologist currently pursuing her PhD between the labs of Prof. Nicholas Luscombe and Prof. Jernej Ule at the Francis Crick Institute in London. Her research interests lie in the complicated lives of RNA molecules. Previously she spent five years in Edinburgh, receiving a BSc in Molecular Genetics and an MSc in Bioinformatics.

She is a passionate supporter of hackathons, having come runner-up at hackathons such as the London City University Major League Hacking (MLH) event in 2017, and the Sanger Institute BioDataHack in 2018. After participating in January 2019, she now co-organises the Crick Data Challenge at the Crick Institute, an initiative that aims to bring together wet lab scientists with complicated datasets with the data scientists who can help to make some sense of them.
